Well, the whole thing is artistically not quite so impressing; the compo is… well, is there any compo at all?

The models aren’t quite expressive either and this ape-like alien creature in the bag really gives me the shivers… and it’s also a bit overexposed too.

But well, it’s intereseting from an historicla point of view ;)

  75. Brenda Anderson

have to agree with Brenda there. i’m sorry you don’t like the "compo", and would like to see you try to make a properly exposed image using circa 1900 camera equipment, film and development techniques.

i hope you’re being sarcastic when you jump in with a lightweight, camera club style critique on what is clearly "historicla" photo.

You have to remember that there are very little shadows in black and white pictures, it uses non-color wavelengths such as infra-red on the sliver-based film. So anything in the shadows does shows very well in these films because infra-red reflects light better than colors. That’s why the hands and face are different, since the face is actually in the shadows of sunlight.

Love it, classic photo. It reminds me of celebrities that carry their dogs in bags. Maybe trashy magazines would be more interesting if celebrities started carrying their children in mail bags.
